Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in recent weeks, and while it seems there is little chance of the deal going through, rumours continue to trickle through about the money they would be willing to spend on the Brazilian.
After talk of a contract in excess of €1b for Vinicius, MD quote El Chiringuito, who say that Saudi Arabia would be willing to part with €500m in order to sign the superstar. There has been talk that Vinicius would perhaps consider an offer if it were to arrive – so far it has only been musings that have arrived at his camp – but Real Madrid will not. They will require Vinicius €1b release clause before he is allowed to leave.
The situation could become more interesting next season, when Vinicius has just two years left on his deal, which is generally around the time new contracts are discussed. As a cynic might point out, the Saudi interest is good leverage in any negotiation. Equally, if Vinicius is not willing to renew with them, Los Blancos might consider an outrageous bid.
