Against the backdrop of ongoing talks in Qatar regarding a ceasefire in the Gaza war, hundreds of relatives of hostages and supporters demonstrated in Tel Aviv for quick results.
Participants in the march through the central area of the coastal city called out to the Israeli negotiators: “Don’t come home without a deal,” Israeli media reported on Thursday evening.
The talks in the Qatari capital Doha aim for a ceasefire as well as the release of 115 hostages held by Hamas.
Among those participating in the negotiations in Qatar are CIA Chief William Burns, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel, as well as the head of Israel’s foreign intelligence service Mossad, David Barnea.
Hamas is not participating, but the Palestinian militant organization is reportedly being continuously informed about the content of the talks, dpa has learnt from sources.
