What did you miss?
Gardeners’ World fans were blown away by an intricate garden featuring a Hobbit-esque world.
Friday night’s instalment (16 August) of Monty Don’s show included a visit to viewer Nigel’s house, where he had made a special garden out of twisted wood. Created over several years, it featured lots of little nooks and crannies, a stunning maze of walkways and an eye-catching hut, all made from branches.
“This is my crinkle crankle folly,” he said. “The idea is it’s something like The Hobbit, The Lord Of the Rings.”
“I always think a good garden should be full of secrets, excitement,” he went on.
What, how and why?
Viewers were very taken with Nigel and his vision – and the fact he had a dog that looked a lot like Don’s beloved Ned – with some saying his creation was one of the best things they had ever seen on the much-loved BBC programme.
“What an incredible garden,” one impressed viewer posted on X as the TV show aired. Another fan agreed: “Oh I adore this wonderful quirky garden, definitely secret and mysterious and above all so beautiful.”

What else did viewers say?
