I had no idea Eric Dressen held such a special place in his heart for Japan, but you learn something new every day, right? His enthusiasm for Japanese culture is incredibly contagious, and in this new video from Santa Cruz, we get a front-row seat to what a typical day looks like for Dressen while he’s out there. Let’s get it:
As he mentions in the video, Dressen has been around the world and back more than a handful of times—he’s seen it all, and then some—but Japan resides at the top of his well-traveled list. And I have to admit, as the video plays on and he explains more and more, it’s easy to see why.

I’ve never been to Japan, but it’s definitely on my bucket list. After watching this clip, the FOMO is real, and my excitement to visit is at an all-time high. No better time than now!
Between the skate scene out there, the rich Japanese culture (just in general), the amazing food, incredible sights and entertainment…it’s all calling my name. And it goes without saying, but Dressen did an incredible job being a top notch tour guide here. Again, his enthusiasm is absolutely infectious!
Their visit to the Temple was so rad. How cool to be able to immerse yourself in such a historic culture, all in the name of skateboarding no less! You just never know where that silly little wooden toy has the power to take you, ya know? Too cool.
But hey, it wouldn’t be a “day in the life” of Dressen without some ripping, which is why Eric and the Santa Cruz squad ends the day with a fun session. Sight-seeing, good food, skateboarding…I’m not gonna say I’m jealous, but I will say I’m a little envious. Inspired? Yeah, actually. I’ll say inspired. Thanks for the tour, Eric.
