At least two people have been killed in a Russian glide bomb attack on a high-rise building in Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine, the local authorities said on Thursday.
One of the dead is a 12-year-old boy, regional governor Oleh Synyehubov announced on Telegram. At least 34 people have been injured. Rescue workers searched the destroyed apartments for further possible victims.
President Volodymyr Zelenksy called on foreign supporters to help his country more quickly. “Under these circumstances, every decision you postpone means at least dozens or even hundreds of such Russian bombs on Ukraine,” he wrote on Telegram.
Other parts of Ukraine were also attacked from the air by Russia with missiles and combat drones during the night. One missile attack was focused on the strategically important bridge over the estuary of the Dniester River into the Black Sea near Odessa. No information on damage has been provided so far.
Russian authorities reported on Thursday morning that there had been a major Ukrainian drone attack on the occupied port city of Berdiansk on the Sea of Azov.
